Welcome to my website! My name is Yusuf Salah Elhajjar. I am a Norwegian citizen, originally from Palestine. I was born in Gaza City on 4th December 1981. I have been living in Norway since 2007, and I am in love with Norway. I do speak three languages: Arabic, English and Norwegian, and I work as a teacher of English and as a trilingual translator/interpreter. I built this non-commercial website, by myself, because I strongly believe that knowledge should be for free. I update the contents of this website regularly, so keep visiting it from time to time, if you are interested in languages. You can read below the 10 aims of this modest website.
As for my academic qualifications, I hold an MA degree in Arabic/English translation from Durham University in the U.K in the year 2005. Actually, I was so glad that I could finish off my Master's degree in 10 months and graduate with distinction! I managed to do my MA degree by obtaining a full merit-based scholarship organized by Durham Palestine Educational Trust in the UK.
In addition, I hold a BA degree in English language and literature (1999-2003) from the Islamic University in Gaza. I managed to do my BA degree after obtaining a full four-year, merit-based, Presidential scholarship, which was a reward for scoring the highest grades over all male students in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, when I graduated from high school with the average 96,2% in the literary stream in 1999. If you would like to know more about me, just visit my online CV.
